Ring In The New Year With Cheer

We’ll Toast to That

It goes without saying that 2020 has been a challenging year. As we look back on a year that was truly unlike any other, we at KEA Canada would like to raise a glass to you who persevered through tough times and made magic happen in your communities. You are the executive who held true to your mission despite changes in policy and infrastructure. You are the philanthropist who gave generously to your cause despite uncertainty in the economy. And you are the client who offered us hope for a better tomorrow. To you, we say thank you, and well done.

We are honoured and humbled to have supported a number of incredible organizations achieving their goals in 2020. Here are just a few of the successes we’re celebrating:

  • Volunteers in the community of Nelson, BC have taken significant strides towards saving the land around Cottonwood Lake from unregulated clearcut logging. Significant progress has been made to ensure that the land surrounding the lake is being protected thanks to concerned citizens and businesses who are working to preserve the land for the wildlife who rely on this important corridor—and for their friends, family, and future generations.

  • Métis Addictions Council of Saskatchewan Inc. (MACSI) is finding new ways to support clients through their recovery journey. The council has partnered with  front-line organizations to provide online access to support for people experiencing addictions and homelessness.

  • Donors in the Columbia Valley continue to support the Greenways Trail Alliance as they begin to plan the next phase of the Legacy Trail system. Phase I wrapped in September with the official opening of the Markin-MacPhail Westside Trail, which connects the active communities of Invermere and Fairmont Hot Springs in British Columbia.

  • The City of Fort St. John is moving forward with the development of a Community Foundation after Council approved the plan in November. The Foundation will bring resources and people in the British Columbia town together to build better places to live, work and play.

Together, We’ll Prevail

We in the fundraising sector have always known that we are strongest when we come together towards a common goal. At KEA Canada, we’re grateful to work alongside a number of organizations that are striving each and every day to help those impacted by the pandemic. It isn’t easy, but thanks to the tireless efforts of those on the front line and the donors who support them, we know it will be worth it. We will get through this crisis the way we always have: together.

We also know that we are swimming in uncharted waters, and dealing with challenges and opportunities that no one could have foreseen. If you need support, please know that our team is here, and we are happy to serve you in whatever way you need. Whether you’re a donor searching for ways to give back or looking for qualified charities to support during the pandemic or a non-profit looking for guidance, we can help.

Our Wish for You

As you prepare to celebrate the holidays and say goodbye to 2020, we hope you find comfort and joy in the successes we’ve shared. This has been a difficult time for everyone in different ways, but being part of a caring community reminds us that we are part of something bigger than ourselves. We are proud of everything our community has accomplished this year, and can’t wait to see what the new year will bring.

Here’s to a new beginning, new hopes, and new spirits—cheers!
